My donation is going to A.C.R.E.S: I love animals, and I have been to ACRES many times before. I’ve also been supporting some pythons and turtles there for a year and a half now. Since ACRES is mainly run by volunteers and only depends on donations, I feel I should donate to them and animals who require help and protection.
The refugee crisis is a worldwide problem in which many people flee their homes to seek a better place to live and a happier life. It has many causes, including dicrimination, war, racism, gender inequality, and more. This leads to people migrating illegally to foreign lands, where they have issues with basic needs such as housing, shelter, clothing, nutrition, safety, education, jobs, money and other mental/physical health issues.
So before we can address these problems with or without a superpower, it is crucial to analyze and find the root cause of the crisis to eradicate it before it escalates into something so colossal that it has widespread destructive effects. The solution needs to be sustainable, to keep the problem from recurring. We also need to make sure we can get the world to solve it together rather than depending on one person solving it alone with a magic wand.
So keeping the above in mind, here’s my superpower – the “Empathetic Wave”. The Empathetic Wave is a superpower which makes you radiate waves of empathy. So when the Empathetic Wave touches people, it automatically makes them feel how others around them are feeling and they become capable of radiating similar waves of empathy, almost like a domino effect. Basically, if I feel what you feel and you feel what I feel, and everyone would feel how others feel, it would make this world a kinder and more compassionate place.
If we can understand each other better, the Empathetic Wave will reduce misunderstandings and conflict, and help us find a solution or a compromise.
If we can feel others’ pain, the Empathetic Wave will enable us to soothe them.
If we can feel others’ worry, the Empathetic Wave will make us comfort them.
If we can feel others’ sadness, the Empathetic Wave will make us cheer them up with love.
If we can feel others’ struggles and hardships, the Empathetic Wave will push us to assist them.
If we can feel others’ loneliness, the Empathetic Wave will make us want to befriend them and give them support.
And if we can feel others’ fear and insecurity, the Empathetic Wave will enable us to give them protection and care
In a nutshell, the Empathetic Wave will start a kindness chain reaction and stop war and discrimination – the root cause of this crisis – and therefore impact and solve the effects of the crisis. Thus my super power of the Empathetic Wave will not only break the cycle but make everyone learn to catch fish and eventually eradicate the crisis completely.
